Bomb Damages Bank in Basque City.

A bomb exploded in the city of Gasteiz early on Wednesday, damaging a bank and a nearby store, local news reported. An anonymous caller claiming to represent the Basque liberation organization Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA, Basque Homeland and Freedom) alerted police minutes before the blast near the seat of the regional government of three Basque provinces known as Baskongadak, which occurred after midnight, police said. No injuries were immediately reported. The latest explosion blamed on ETA came at a time when officials of the regional police force in Baskongadak and Spain's Interior Ministry were working out plans to share information and intelligence in the fight against the Basque national liberation movement led by ETA.
